Electrical Engineer Opportunity at Redstone – Job| Role and Responsibilities:
As an Electrical Engineer at OxyChem, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining our commitment to safety, environmental protection, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing the Electrical Distribution System Maintenance program in accordance with guidelines, codes, and regulations.
Reviewing facility electrical maintenance activities to ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and standards.
Evaluating capital project scopes and vendor proposals for new equipment purchases.
Providing technical expertise on electrical equipment and systems, such as transformers, rectifiers, power distribution, and backup power supply systems.
Leading projects from identification to commissioning, ensuring reliability and maintainability.
Collaborating with internal departments and vendors, managing budgets, and maintaining relationships.
Staying updated on industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance and safety.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
5+ years of electrical engineering experience; 7+ years preferred.
Experience in refining or chemical plant environments is beneficial.
Knowledge of NEC, OSHA, and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
Familiarity with electrical distribution, medium voltage, high voltage, and DC systems.
Practical experience in designing and maintaining plant electrical systems.
